Jeff Griffiths

Jeff Griffiths is the Director of Research at the Canada West Foundation and a leading Canadian practitioner in the field of competency-based workforce and organizational development with over 30 years of experience in the field, and has developed comprehensive competency frameworks for multiple occupations and industries.

Jeff began his career as an officer in the Canadian air force (NORAD, tactical fighter control), where his passion for the value of competencies was first established. After leaving the military, he began a career in industry and consulting, earning his Certified Management Consultant (CMC), designation in 2001; he was named a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Alberta (FCMC) in 2014 in recognition of his service to the profession.

In addition to his work in policy research, Jeff is a member of the Workforce Forum for the North American Strategy for Competitiveness (NASCO), a graduate of the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) Academy (and mentor to the Alberta TPM project), a member of the TPM National Learning Network, and serves on the board of directors of the Calgary-based Learning City Collective.
