About ConvergX® Xpand™

The ConvergX® Xpand™ Commercialization Zone is an advanced program designed to accelerate cross-industry innovation and technology adoption. It connects sectors such as defence, aerospace, energy, mining, manufacturing, security, construction, agriculture, space, technology, and healthcare, enabling high-TRL (Technology Readiness Level 7–9) and commercialized solutions to reach the market faster and in new industry verticals.

What is Commercialization?
Commercialization is the process of transforming proven innovations into market-ready products or services that deliver measurable economic, operational, or strategic value. It bridges the “valley of death” between research and adoption—helping technologies move from prototype to real-world deployment.

What is a ConvergX® Xpand™ Stream Lead?

A Stream Lead for ConvergX® Xpand™ is the company who owns and drives one specific “stream” (theme or capability area) inside the Xpand™ program — ensuring that stream turns into real outcomes (pilots, partnerships, procurement steps, funding movement, or adoption pathways).

These Companies can be small, medium or large, from ANY industry

A Stream Lead within ConvergX® Xpand™ is the accountable owner of a themed innovation stream—responsible for ensuring each stream is built around real industry demand and produces measurable outcomes. Stream Leads work closely with the Xpand™ to set the stream strategy by defining the mission, target Technology Readiness Level (TRL) range, desired commercial results, and the ideal stakeholder mix, including buyers, operators, integration owners, and funders. Their role ensures the stream remains focused on practical adoption pathways and operational needs—not simply what organizations want to promote.

Stream Leads also work closely with the ConvergX® Xpand™ team to curate the right participants and drive conversion throughout the Xpand™ experience. Together, they help identify which sponsors, government and industry decision makers, startups, researchers, and procurement stakeholders must be in the room to move initiatives forward.

During Xpand™ activations—such as virtual briefings, roundtables, and matchmaking sprints—they facilitate sessions to align buyers and innovators and translate discussions into actionable next steps. After each activation, the Xpand™ team with support of the Stream Lead, maintain deal momentum by coordinating follow-ups, documenting outcomes (pilot readiness, procurement steps, partnership decisions), tracking progress through TRL movement, and producing clear deliverables such as stream objectives, participant briefs, matchmaking plans, outcomes roadmaps, and ROI metrics resulting in a business deal within 12-18 months.
